Florida Players is a student-run theater company that provides opportunities for students to explore the world of theatre and showcase their works in doing so. Florida Players is open to all University of Florida students, regardless of their major and is sponsored by UF Student Government. Florida Players offers students opportunities in all aspects of theatre, including direction, design, performance, and playwriting, as well as leadership positions.

Proposals for Fall Season!

Hey everyone! I’m happy to announce that Florida Players is now accepting proposals for the Fall 2014 semester! Please fill out the attached form (it has all of the due dates and whatnot) and send scripts and information to Kim. Let me know if you have any questions!

Florida Players Spring Auditions!

Florida Players will be having our Spring Auditions on MONDAY, JANUARY 13 starting at 7pm. You need to come prepared with a one minute monologue, and if you want to audition for our musical slot, please also have 16 bars of music prepared. You will be singing without accompaniment. Audition slots are first come, first serve, so show up on time ready to show us what you’ve got! Please meet in the acting hallway of the school of Theatre and Dance to get signed up.

This audition is open to ALL University of Florida Students. Florida Players is a student run theatre company, and we love to see new faces.

The Spring season is as follows:

  • 'Chatroom' By Enda Walsh Directed by Amanda Young (Feb 21-23)
  • 'Antigone' By Jean Anouilh Directed by Andrea Erkelens (March 14-16)
  • 'Spring Awakening' By Steven Sater; Music by Duncan Sheik Directed by Janiel Myers (April 18-20)
